Nonni:

to Firenze!

Come visit with my family. Never mind the language barrier—I swear sometimes I don't even know what they’re saying. But Nonno, somehow I think he gets it. I think. Anyway, his English is really coming along. But the rest of them...vide cca…I don’t know.

Nonni: to Firenze is a comedy written by and stars Claudio Chiodo. In Candy Factory’s 2002 production (Best Emerging Performance Group – Mississauga Arts Awards) of The Glass Menagerie Mr. Chiodo was heart breakingly real (A. Maclam-Inside Can. Ent).

As Dionysus in Daniel Brooks’ The Bacchae he sizzle[d] erotically, (Jon Kaplan-Now Magazine) with insidious charm (R. Bokhout-The Independent). Claudio Chiodo’s Achilles was masterful (G. Amaral-The Strand) in Troilus and Cressida at the historic Hart House Theatre. Claudio Chiodo can be seen later this year in the upcoming CBS pilot Ultra, and DoubleSee’s own television series The Overnight.

On stage DoubleSee has produced Othello at Theatre Passe Muraille, the struggle: part 1 at Tarragon Theatre, and the struggle: part 2 at Factory Theatre.

Nonni: to Firenze is designed by designer Aleksandra Podbereski. Her recent production design for La Chiusa’s Hello Again at Tarragon Extra Space function[ed] admirably, while the costumes really shine[d]...her work is flawless. (S. Farrow-Drama.ca)
